Reference 2 – Ali (as) is Master of all – Books of Ahle Sunnat

The Narrator says: When we gathered (at Ghadeer e Khum), He (Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) said: Do I not have more authority over you then yourselves. Then we said Yes, O Messenger of Allah. Then he said, Do I not have more authority over you then your mothers? We said, Yes O Messenger of Allah. Then he asked – Do I not have more authority over you then your fathers? We said, Yes, O Messeger of Allah. Then he said, Do I not have authority? Do I not have authority? Do I not have authority? Then we said, Yes, O Messenger of Allah.

Then he said – Of Whomsoever I am Master, then Ali is his Master. O Allah! Love him who loves Ali and bear enmity with one who bears enmity to Ali.

The narration goes on to mention that Umar bin Khattab went on to congratulate Ali (as) and said – Congratulations to you, O son of Abi Talib. This day you have become the master of all believers.
